Mod_rewrite Is disabled on my host

On my shared host (windows) they disable the Mod_rewrite and the .htaccess files so when accessing any page it raise  the 404 error page  . So i have changed $config['index_page']  to  "index.php" in the config file but nothing different happened  and then i changed the base_url to static url and include the index.php then the site worked but without the static files (css,js,images...) .

So is there any suggestion to solve this .

Thanks

Re: Mod_rewrite Is disabled on my host

We have made huge changes in the latest 0.96 which is now available for download, can you test again and see if the problem still appear ?

Re: Mod_rewrite Is disabled on my host

Ok we will consider for next release, btw it's not a bug, mod_rewrite with Ionize is a requirement as said in the user guide.

Re: Mod_rewrite Is disabled on my host

I have the same problem. I want to ENABLE "index.php" but can't. The config variable $config['index_page'] doesn't make any change.

Re: Mod_rewrite Is disabled on my host

Create a file in your web root called phpinfo.php
Inside that file write

phpinfo();

Then execute the file from your browser like this;
www.yoursite.com/phpinfo.php
Now look in your browser to see if mod_rewrite is enable

Re: Mod_rewrite Is disabled on my host

Hi,
can you try to add this code in your web.config file:

<rewrite>
    <rules>
        <rule name="Main Rule" stopProcessing="true">
            <match url=".*" />
            <conditions logicalGrouping="MatchAll">
                <add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsFile" negate="true" />
                <add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsDirectory" negate="true" />
            </conditions>
            <action type="Rewrite" url="index.php" />
        </rule>
    </rules>
</rewrite>

Best regards

I see that mod_rewrite is not requirement anymore? So this can be bug?
