SEO questions about Ionize

Hello everybody,

I am french so sorry for my english which is not perfect.

I am working for a company, and i have to improve the SEO on the Ionize website. Actually, the SEO is not optimized at all, there are some meta descriptions and keywords but i have to do everything.

I didn't know Ionize before. So i have some questions :

- Each article is linked to a page, and i think that only articles are viewable by people. So, have i to write "title", "subtitle", "window title" "navigation title" etc for each of them ? Moreover, must they be the same between the article and the page linked, of different ?

- What about HTML tags ? How to do that with ionize ?

- For pictures, Alt tag and metadescription are "title" "alternativ title" and "description" that we have to make when we link a picture to an article ?

Thank you very much for your answers which must be very helfull for me !

Re: SEO questions about Ionize

Hello,

Use in your theme header view file the ion:meta keys

<meta name="description" content="<ion:meta_description />" />
<meta name="keywords" content="<ion:meta_keywords />" />
<meta name="language" content="<ion:current_lang />" />

Also create the google webmaster account and upload there the sitemap,
Configure on the admin the sitemap ping to:

www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ping?sitemap=http://www.yoursite.com/sitemap.xml

You should use the "show options -> seo" panel to add seperate keywords and description per page or article.

For attached medias you can add the necesseary information from the tag reference: http://doc.ionizecms.com/en/tags-reference/media-tags

For inserted pictures you should add the meta information on the TinyMCE image window for each language.

Best Regards,

Re: SEO questions about Ionize

Thank you Adamos 42 for your answer.

The 1st part of your message is done, "seo options" are already created.

I wanted to know if i have to put the same titles, subtitles etc on pages and article linked to the pages ? It is not going to be assimilate to duplicate content ?

Re: SEO questions about Ionize

Far as I know the keywords and description are generated from the seo fields in this order:

Website settings > Single Article data / Page data > Article data

The seperate segments are not merged by the system, but you can add this feature by editing the:
./application/libraries/Tagmanager.php tag_meta_title, tag_meta_keywords, tag_meta_descripiton functions (2774-2882)
